How to Make and Submit Your Own Drawdle Drawing
Most of the drawings you solve in Drawdle were not made by us. Players draw them and send them in, and the good ones go into the daily rotation with the artist's name attached. The tool to make one is built into the game, and a drawing is only 30 cells, so it takes a couple of minutes. Here is how it works.
Open the editor
Under the board, tap Suggest a drawing. That opens a blank six-row grid, five cells wide, which is the exact shape of a Drawdle puzzle. This is your canvas.
You have three colors
The palette matches the game's tiles:
- Background: an empty cell, the base of the board.
- Primary: the main color you draw with (green on the default board).
- Secondary: an accent color for details (yellow on the default board).
Pick a color, then click or drag to paint cells. Right click erases back to background. That is the whole tool. Sketch a shape, wipe it, try again until it reads.
What makes a good drawing
Five by six is a tiny canvas, so the drawings that land are the simple, readable ones. A few things that help:
- One clear subject. A heart, a key, a mushroom, a letter. If a friend can name it in a second, it works.
- Use the second color with intent. One accent color for eyes, a stem or a highlight reads better than a busy mix.
- Symmetry is your friend. Faces, animals and objects centered on the grid almost always look cleaner.
- An empty row is fine. Leaving the top or bottom row as background gives the shape room to breathe.
One catch worth knowing: every row still has to be solvable, meaning real 5-letter words exist that color exactly that way. A few extreme rows can be impossible, so those drawings do not make it. Do not overthink it though, normal-looking pictures almost always work.
Name it and send it
Give your drawing a name (optional, but it is nicer than "Anonymous"). To send it you sign in, which is how the drawing gets credited to you when it goes live. Prefer to stay unnamed? Tick Submit anonymously. You can send up to three drawings a day, so save the slots for your best.
What happens next
Sent drawings are reviewed, and the ones that read well and play cleanly get added to the daily rotation. When yours comes up, everyone playing that day solves your picture, with your name on it. That is the whole reason the editor exists: the puzzle bank is built by the people who play it.

Do I need an account to submit?
You sign in so the drawing can be credited to you, but there is a box to submit anonymously. Playing Drawdle never needs an account.
How many can I send per day?
Three. Space them out and send the ones you are proud of.
Is my drawing guaranteed to be added?
No. Each row has to be solvable with real words, and we keep the ones that read clearly on the board. Most normal drawings qualify.
Can I play my drawing before sending it?
Yes. The editor has a Play this drawing button so you can test it yourself first, and a Copy code button to save it.
